The authorities said on Friday, it has suspended thousands of third party Apps which have been associated with the Facebook as a part of its ongoing investigation after Cambridge Analytica Scandal. 400 developers are connected with suspended applications that can collect information when users log in with their Facebook username and password. They said the applications had been suspended for a number of reasons, not all of which posed a danger to users. Many were suspended because developers didn’t respond to Facebook’s request to hand over information on how they collect user data. Many of the apps that were suspended were not live, but test apps that might never have been rolled out. Developers commonly have multiple test applications. Facebook said the third-party developer inquiry is continuing and more suspensions could be announced in the future. Facebook must certify developers annually in accordance with a settlement with the Federal Trade Commission to ensure that they are in compliance with its company’s policy.
